The man who is the soul, the main exponent and shakti of the Ashram is its founder and president Sri V. V. Brahmam.
Sri Brahmam worked all his professional life as a school teacher and was posted in different schools in the Anantapur district. His spiritual path brought him to Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi. At that time Bhagavan Ramana had already left the physical body. Sri Brahmam had a profoundly transformative experience through Bhagavan Ramana’s grace in 1972 at the Sri Ramanasramam in Tiruvannamalai and felt compelled by Bhagavan Ramana to start the Ashram in Tadpatri in 1982.
Sri Brahmam gives satsangs at the Ashram regularly coming from his own experience of Bhagavan Ramana’s grace and energy. He gives regular satsangs also in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu.
After retiring from his schoolteacher’s work in 2003 he began receiving regular invitations to give satsangs in other countries as well. Notably in the Czech Republic, Denmark and Germany.
Sri Brahmam has always felt that it was the purpose of life to be of help to others in need. The Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi Ashram Trust serves as a vehicle to continually put this goal into practice.
